Mahjong with friends, online

Real four-player Mahjong, not solitaire. Open a private table, send one link to your friends and let AI take any empty seat. Nobody needs an account or a download, and there's an optional video call beside the tiles.

  1. Choose your rules. Pick Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysian or Taiwanese rules, then casual scoring or the region's own faan or tai scoring.
  2. Share the invite link. Send the private link to your group chat. Friends open it in a browser, type a name and take a seat.
  3. Fill the table and play. Only two or three of you? Start anyway and AI players take the empty seats. Turn on the video call to see each other while you play.

Four sets and a pair. New to the game? How to play Mahjong covers the tiles, claims and scoring.

Rules from four regions

Every table has four seats. The regional rules change the hand size, the bonus tiles, the scoring and how long a match lasts.

Hong Kong Mahjong

The classic Cantonese game: 13 tiles, eight flowers and seasons. Faan scoring needs at least three faan to win. Play Hong Kong rules

Singapore Mahjong

Adds four animal tiles to the flowers, for 148 tiles. With tai scoring, every opponent pays double on a self-drawn win. Play Singapore rules

Malaysian Mahjong

The same animal tiles as Singapore, and seven pairs is allowed. With fan scoring (house rules), only the player who discarded the winning tile pays. Play Malaysian rules

Taiwanese 16-tile Mahjong

A 16-tile hand needs five sets and a pair, so hands take longer to build. A match runs eight wind rounds. Play Taiwanese rules

What's at the table

Everything a Mahjong night needs is built into the room.

Invite with one link

Share the room link from the table. Friends join from their own browser, with no account.

AI fills empty seats

Start with two or three players and AI opponents take the rest, so the table is always full.

See each other while you play

Start a video call from the table, or just use the chat. Cameras are optional.

Scores across the match

The table keeps score hand by hand through every wind round, so the night ends with a winner.

Before you play

Can I play Mahjong online with friends for free?

Yes. Creating a private room, inviting friends and playing are free. Nobody needs an account or an app; each player only enters a name.

What if we don't have four players?

Start the game anyway. AI players fill the empty seats, so two or three friends can still play a full table.

Is this Mahjong solitaire?

No. This is the original four-player game, where you draw and discard tiles, claim pungs, chows and kongs, and race to complete a winning hand.

Which Mahjong rules can we play?

Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysian and Taiwanese 16-tile Mahjong. Each table can use casual scoring, where any complete hand wins, or that region's faan or tai scoring.

Can we talk or see each other while we play?

Yes. Private rooms have a chat and an optional video call, so it feels closer to sitting at the same table.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Mahjong runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, and players on different devices can share a table.
